VBS 2009 - Boomerang Express!

Last week we had the priviledge of taking part in VBS at our church. The girls were in the Kindergarten class - nineteen kids just in their class! We were thankful to have around 100 kids this year and many, many teachers and helpers to make the week a success! For the fifth year, I coordinated snacks, and incorporated some fun facts for the kids along the way. Here are a couple of the snacks we had, as well as some video from the Friday night program. Let the good times roll... This is the Wooly Sheep Cookie - did you know there are more sheep than people in Australia? (Unfortunately it keeps getting flipped on it's side when I upload it.) And, here is Nolan enjoying a cookie at home...

And, this is the Boomerang Express Engine - Friday's snack. I had four women helping me assemble snacks Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - however, Thursday and Friday were our most difficult treats, and we were short manpower those days. But, I think the ladies will all come back next year :) This Engine required melted chocolate to secure all it's parts, so we definitely had to hustle to get everything put together before snack time for the classes! If you can't recognize this creation it is...a Swiss Cake Roll, 1/4 Zinger, Junior Mints, Mini-Oreo's and a Hershey's Kiss :)

Portions of the theme song...Emma was behind the little boy that gives the director a high five, so you can see a little bit of her, but there isn't as much of her...
