Bah-humbug on the English language!

I am giving it up for all the elementary school teachers right now! Having two nearly-five-year-olds in the house, we are doing a lot of letter and word work right now. Emma is working on writing her letters, copying words, and enjoys rhyming. Annika has been trying to spell words by sounding them out. Now, this isn't too difficult when trying to spell "box" or "fox." Then both girls are excited because they can not only spell two words, but rhyme them too! However, this morning at breakfast we were having Cheerios and strawberries. Of course, Annika decides now is the time to learn her fruits. Try to slowly say the word "strawberries" in a way that is understandable to a child and get all the consonants in there! Not to mention "ies" and the double "r!" So there you have it...kudos to all of you struggling out there to teach these little minds!
